Why are my guidance labels missing?

Since the release on 9th March 2023, we have received feedback regarding some text not appearing. This is related to where a label has been used to provide guidance to the user showing informative text detailing how fields were to be completed.

To address this immediately your admin user can follow the step by step guide linked below, or wait until Thursday 23rd March when we will release a further change which allows you to force a guidance label to appear via a simple tick box.

If you wish to make the change immediately the following advice can be used to re-introduce the text. This step by step guide outlines how you convert the label from a fixed value to a calculated label which will then be displayed:

We understand however that this may prove time consuming where you have heavily used this approach for adding guidance to workflow processes. On Thursday 23rd March we will release a further change which allows you to force a guidance label to appear via a tick box. If you decide to wait for this change and take this approach then it will negate the need to follow the step by step guide referenced above.

The new option in the workflow label properties is highlighted in red below:

The Display in new layout option will be unticked by default. Ticking the box will result in the text from the value field being displayed in the new layout.

Regardless of which approach is taken, the label will automatically be positioned at the bottom of the page when viewed in the new layout. If you wish to amend the positioning of the text then an order will need to be assigned through the control order window.

A Standard System save is required for the changes to take effect.
